Even with starting middle blocker Jelena Dragovic sidelined with an injury, the Lancers put on an impressive show, winning 25-16, 25-16, 25-17.
"The girls didn't miss a beat, even with Jelena out, Bree Rauschenbach jumped right back in the middle and did well for us," said Head Coach Ryan McGuyre. "I continue to be impressed with the way the girls are playing offensively."
The Lancers out-hit the Red Storm in each set, finishing with a scorching .413 hitting percentage. Dixie State hit just .048 in the match. CBU posted 47 kills to 19 for the Red Storm.
There were a total two lead changes the entire night as the Lancers dominated early and often.
Jessica Kalama led the team with 15 kills, committing just one error on her 28 attempts for a .500 attack percentage. Ingrid Carmona posted 13 kills as the only other player in double figures for the match. Kalama also posted a service ace, accounting for 16 of the team's 55 points. The senior led all players with 12 digs as well.
"Jessica had another impressive match," said McGuyre. "She is such a strong all-around player. It's exciting to see a senior play maybe the best volleyball of her career right now."
Taylor Parker also had yet another strong match, averaging 12 assists per set in the three-game match. Rauschenbach posted three aces in the contest, upping her team leading total to 48 on the year.
Dixie State was led by Shannon Young with five kills and Jayci Jeffress had 10 digs.
The Lancers improve to 15-8 overall, 7-4 PacWest, while Dixie State drops to 13-9, 8-6. Up next for CBU is Grand Canyon, Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. The Lancers look to avenge a heartbreaking five-set loss to the Antelopes earlier this season.
"We just need to continue to serve well, that's the key," said McGuyre of the upcoming match. "We have been more aggressive with our serves lately. We need that same intensity while limiting our errors and that will give us a good chance to score."
