The win improves the Lancers to 12-3-2 overall, 10-2-1 (33 points) PacWest and sets them up to where a win Saturday at Grand Canyon would give them their second straight PacWest title.
The Sea Lions fall to 2-14, 1-11 (3 points).
Salazar scored twice and assisted on two others, factoring into all four of the Lancer goals.
"Michael did a good job today getting us started on the right foot," said CBU Head Coach Ryan Jorden. "I was disappointed to concede but we weren't great defensively today. We have to shore up some of our defending by Saturday, because we just weren't sharp."
The Lancer scored the first two and the last two goals of the game, and all the scoring was done in the first 46 minutes. Tyler Garrison got things started in the 11th minute, finishing an assist from Salazar for his third goal in as many games.
Salazar then doubled the lead off an assist from Jonathan Fausto in the 30th minute before Point Loma's Andrew Sanders cut the deficit in half in the 32nd minute.
Just two minutes later, Tyler Aagard ripped a volley off a Salazar corner kick for his first goal of the year to give the Lancers a 3-1 halftime lead.
Salazar completed the scoring just 16 seconds into the second half after the Lancers created a turnover. Dominic Escalera played Salazar a ball in the middle, and the sophomore buried his sixth goal of the year.
Both teams took 10 shots. Ian Clark made three saves.
CBU concludes its regular season Saturday at Grand Canyon. GCU can clinch the title with a tie. CBU must win.
