SANTA BARBARA, CA --- California Baptist will kick off the final week of the regular season on Tuesday with a non-conference visit to UC Santa Barbara. Playing in two consecutive Big West/Pac-12 crossover matches, the Lancers will be playing for RPI positioning, as the Lancers have already concluded their conference slate of games.
Â
The Lancers closed out the Pac-12 regular season on Saturday with a 2-2 draw against UC San Diego. By virtue of the draw, the Lancers earned one point, moving them to 11 for the season. CBU has mathematically clinched a top-two seed in the conference tournament, which comes with the right to host its conference semifinal match.
Â
CBU's seed is still to be determined as the Lancers could move up to first place and win the outright conference championship with a favorable result in Corvallis. Oregon State, which enters the weekend sitting on ten points, would need to lose to Gonzaga for the Lancers to clinch the number one seed.
Â
An Oregon State win or draw means the Lancers will enter the postseason with the second seed, and Oregon State would control the right to host the conference championship match should they win their semifinal bout.
Â
The Lancers enter the week ranked No. 60 in the RPI while possessing a 10-3-2 overall record. CBU ended the Pac-12 season with a record of 3-1-2. The two draws come consecutively, with CBU finishing even against San Diego State and UCSD.
Â
First on the schedule this week will be the Gauchos of UC Santa Barbara, an opponent the Lancers were originally scheduled to battle last week. That match was postponed, however, due to inclement weather in Santa Barbara.
Â
The Gauchos sit at 8-4-4 overall entering the final week of the season, holding a 2-1-2 mark in the Big West. USCB is ranked No. 35 in the RPI, setting up Tuesday night as a potential quad one victory for the Lancers. The Gauchos sit at 8 points in the Big West, putting them in control of the third seed in the conference tournament with one match to play.
Â
UCSB will close out the regular season on Saturday against CSUN, a team currently on the outside looking in on the postseason. A win on Saturday will clinch the third seed for the Gauchos, while the top two seeds have already been locked up.
Â
Currently owning the top spot in the Big West with 13 points is the Lancers' opponent on Saturday, UC Irvine. The Anteaters own a one-point advantage over Utah Valley, but the Wolverines still have a match to play. UVU could steal the top seed with a win or draw against Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday night. Irvine is currently No. 40 in the RPI, making it a quad two opportunity for CBU.
Â
Saturday will be the second meeting between the Lancers and Anteaters this year. A late goal from Blake D'Agostino, set up by a Haruna Lukwago cross, allowed the Lancers to escape Irvine with a 1-0 win on September 24.
Â
Tuesday night's action in Santa Barbara is scheduled for 7 p.m., and then the season finale on Saturday will kick off at 2 p.m. Tickets for Saturday's match are on sale HERE.

Tickets for the Pac-12 tournament will go on sale soon.
