CHICAGO --- California Baptist University distance track now has four NCCAA All-Americans after this weekend. CBU had five runners compete at nationals, which took place this in Chicago, Ill.
Trevor Henson was the only first place finisher for CBU at nationals. The sophomore defeated 18 other competitors in the 3k Steeplechase and finished with a time of 9:27.95.
Naomi Van Setten placed second in the 3k Steeplechase and clocked an impressive time of 11:11.24 for the Lancers. Van Setten defeated 20 other competitors en route to her All-American finish.
Jennifer Mallen placed second in the 10k for the Lancers finishing with a time of 36:51.25.
Chase Williams kept the Top 2 finishes going for CBU when he took second place in the 800m run and posted a time of 1:54.04.
Chris Cline finished seventh out of 23 in the 1500m run and finished with a time of 4:03.32.
“I'm very proud of our athletes and how they performed at this meet”, said CBU Head Coach Ben Gall. “Their performances show that the future of CBU track is very bright.”
