Lancers Making Moves Regionally and Nationally

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — After the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) regional and national rankings came out this week, California Baptist University made moves on three of the four lists.

The Lancer women improved to the third-ranked team in the West Region after opening up with two team victories, despite not always racing a full squad. Nationally, CBU moved up to 13th overall heading into this weekend's race at Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday morning.

On the men's side, CBU held fast to the No. 6 regional spot, but went from receiving votes in the national poll to No. 25 in the division. The push comes after CBU grabbed back-to-back, top-two team finishes to open the season, while also not racing everyone in each meet.

CBU will look to carry momentum as it strives for a strong postseason run. The Lancer men are looking for their unprecedented sixth-straight PacWest Conference Championship, while the women are looking to grab their fourth conference crown.
