Wang Named WAC Golfer of the Month

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – A strong start to the season earned California Baptist University's Erica Wang the Western Athletic Conference Golfer of the Month award on Tuesday.
Wang is CBU's first-ever WAC Golfer of the Month in what was the team's first opportunity. The senior notched two top-15 individual finishes in the Lancers' first tournaments of the season and the NCAA Division I and WAC era to pick up the distinction.
In CBU's season debut, Wang led her team to the USA Intercollegiate championship. She carded a four-under-par 212 (70-72-70) to take second place in the 93-golfer field. On Monday, the senior came in 15th at the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate with a 231 (78-76-77) and helped the Lancers tie for third place.
The Lancers have two more tournaments left in their fall season. They will see how they measure up against more WAC competition at the Aggie Invitational on Oct. 8-10 hosted by NM State, the runner-up in the conference last season, and then the UC Irvine Anteater Invitational Oct. 29-30.
