AZUSA, Calif. — California Baptist University closed out the Bryan Clay Invitational Friday night, keeping pace as it prepares for the PacWest Championships next week in Fresno, Calif.
Simon Bedard was just a second off a provisional mark in the 1500-meter, finishing in three minutes, 49.26 seconds. Pierre-Louis Detourbe wasn't too far behind and crossed the finish line in 3:52.78, a day after posting a solid 3K steeplechase time. Both runners clinched qualifying times for the PacWest Championship.
William Ernst posted a time of 3:57.61and McMarshall Hartzenburg followed with a time of 3:58.25, both have already clinched spots for Fresno as well. Mirco Zenzen closed out the successful night for the Lancers crossing the finishing line in 4:01.81.
CBU has one week to prepare before heading to Fresno for the PacWest Championship Meet on April 27 and 28.
