RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Coming off an explosive finish at the Bryan Clay Invitational last week, California Baptist University's Emeline Delanis was named the PacWest Track Athlete of the Week Wednesday.
Delanis took off in the fastest 5K heat against multiple Division I foes and not only held her own, but shattered the previous CBU record by almost 30 seconds. She finished in 10th place with a time of 16 minutes, 8.21 seconds, which also guarantees her a spot at the NCAA Division II Championship in May with an automatic qualifying mark.
The Lancers next compete at the PacWest Championship Friday through Saturday up at Fresno Pacific before fixing their eyes on the postseason.
