
Last Tune-Up for Lancers

PORTLAND — In the final tune-up before the NCAA Division II Championship Meet, California Baptist University competed at the Portland Twilight Saturday night, hosted by the University of Portland.
Kim Rabenstein led the Lancers in the 3K steeplechase with a provisional qualifying time of 11 minutes, 00.36 seconds, finishing her regular season off with a new career-best time.
In the 1500-meter, Fruzsi Ladanyi and Leanda du Bruyn crossed the finish line one right after the other, clocking in at 4:30.15 and 4:30.41, respectively, giving both runners provisional qualifying marks and new personal-best times. Emeline Delanis wasn't far behind, as she clocked in at 4:36.77. Natalia Novak and Berenice Cleyet-Merle followed in respective times of 4:37.14 and 4:42.16.
Anett Somogyi capped off the night with a provisional qualifying mark in the 5K, crossing the finishing line in 17:16.46, while Kate Robinson finished strong and sprinted past the finish line in 17:41.97.
On the men's side, Simon Bedard and McMarshall Hartzenburg both earned provisional qualifying marks in the 5K, with respective times of 14:18.22 and 14:34.68, as Bedard grabbed a new personal-best time.
Mike Alukunyang finished the 800-meter in 1:53.24, while Anthony Lozano finished strong in the 1500m heat with a time of 4:00.73.
Lastly, Pierre-Louis Detourbe finished off a successful night for the Lancers and sprinted past the finish line in 14:39.24 in the 5K event as well, finishing only a few seconds off another provisional qualifying time.
