CBU Shuts Out Life Pacific, 51-0

RIVERSIDE – California Baptist University scored 51 points out of a possible 60 to cruise to one of its most dominant wins in program history on Saturday afternoon.
The Lancers defeated Life Pacific 51-0, with the help of four forfeits, two pins and three major decisions. It was one point off CBU's record for most in a dual and largest margin of victory.
Both marks were set in a 52-0 win over Central Florida on Dec. 18, 2018.
Josh Grant (165) and Zach Schrader (heavyweight) provided the highlights of the day for CBU by ending the dual with back-to-back pins after the Warriors, who forfeited at 157, 175, 184 and 197.
Grant muscled his way to a pin about four-and-a-half minutes into the match, while Schrader's came 43 seconds into the second period.
Dilan Atjun, Christian Nunez and Adam Velasquez started the dual with three-straight major decision wins. At 125 pounds, Atjun defeated LPU's Bobby Pinto by a score of 13-5. Nunez, a 133-pounder, knocked off Anthony Vargas 10-4, while Velasquez powered through Isaac Kephart, 20-7.
AJ Raya ensured the perfect day for CBU with a 6-3 decision over Anthony Loera at 149. The Lancers continue their three-dual homestand to start the year against Gardner-Webb on Saturday, Nov. 23 at noon.
