Lancers End Road Dual Season

PHILADELPHIA – California Baptist University closed out its road dual season at Pennsylvania on Saturday, and nearly pulled out several individual wins.
The Quakers secured the 39-0 victory, though. CBU moves to 2-4 in dual action this season and Penn improves to 4-8. Six of the 10 matches were decided on a decision.
Daxton Gordon lost a 3-2 decision at 149 pounds, nearly getting a takedown in the final seconds for the comeback win. Jacob Cooper also dropped a 3-2 match at 165 pounds.
CBU's best chance at a win came at 184 for Garrett Strang. Down 3-1 in the third period, Strang came up with a big takedown with about 30 seconds left in regulation to force a tie and overtime. Strang just dropped the 5-3 decision in overtime.
Jaron Pagaduan (7-2), Bryce Buckley (8-4) and Zach Schrader also lost out on decisions at 157, 174 and heavyweight, respectively, for CBU.
The Lancers will return home for the first time the middle of November for two duals next week. CBU hosts Oregon State on Friday at 7 p.m. and CSU Bakersfield on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Van Dyne Gym.
