Lancers Take 11th at GCU Invite

RESULTS
PHOENIX – A strong finish over the final two rounds moved California Baptist University six spots up the leaderboard to an 11th-place finish at the Grand Canyon Spring Invite on Sunday.
All four scorers for the Lancers shot 77 or better in rounds two and three. CBU improved as each round went before finishing with a 912 (313-303-296). Four Lancers finished in the top 50 of the individual standings, as well.
Toledo, which is ranked 85th in NCAA Division I, won the tournament with an 877. Lamar and Southern Utah took second and third, while reigning Western Athletic Conference champion Grand Canyon took fourth (893) on its home course. CBU was just 10 strokes off a top-seven position.
Yifei "Sunny" Wang took 28th after she shot one-over-par 73 in the third round to card a 226 (76-77-73). Erica Wang put up a team-best round of 72 to end the tournament and take 36th with a 227 (78-77-72).
Samantha Martirez closed out the weekend with a 73 and 76 to complete a 229 (80-73-76) that placed her 43rd. Jocelyn Chee compiled a 230 (79-76-75) on the week to take 49th. Kristyna Abrahamova saved her two best roudns for last to finish with a 239 (82-78-79).
The Lancers will take next week off before taking part in Southern Utah's Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational March 14-15.
