RESULTS
HAYWARD, Calif. – Four new personal records and two top-three times were set by California Baptist University in the 10,000-meter race on day one of San Francisco State's Mike Fanelli Track Classic.
Simon Bedard and Zlatko Kozuhar ran their fastest-ever times in the 10K, with Bedard taking 26th overall and 15th in his section with a time of 29 minutes, 57.86 seconds. Kozuhar placed 44th in the finals and 22nd in his heat in 30:35.98.
It began a busy weekend for the Lancers, who are running a split squad at San Francisco State and the Stanford Invite on Friday. Live results and video are available for best meets. Bedard became just the second Lancer to run a 10K under 30 minutes, with Gariel Hernandez' 29:22.07 set back in 2002 being the only thing standing between him and the CBU record. Both Bedard and Kozuhar topped CBU's previous No. 2 time in the 10K of 31:00.07 that was set by Albar Insuzna in 2001.
Hector Peralta and Koby Ghadery both set personal records of their own with respective times of 30:59.63 and 31:58.38, which were good 17th and 27th in their section. McMarshall Hartzenberg also took 17th in his heat with a 31:00.32, which was the fourth-best time of the day for the Lancers.
