Lancers Impress at Bryan Clay Invitational

AZUSA, Calif. – California Baptist University competed in the steeplechase and the 5,000 meter at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Thursday.
In 5,000 meter competition, Simon Bedard and Timothy Legemet ran in heat three of eight. Bedard set a new personal best with a time of 14 minutes, 11.28 seconds to take seventh place. Additionally, Thursday's run puts Bedard at No. 3 on the Lancer's school record list. Legemet took 24th with a time of 14:50.07. Dennis Messmer competed in heat number six, finishing 19th with a time of 15 minutes, 11.64 seconds.
Hector Peralta made his collegiate steeplechase debut, finishing 83rd with a 9:46.52 time.
CBU is scheduled to have competition in the men's 800 meter and the women's 1,500 meter on Friday.
