RESULTS
LAKEWOOD, Wash. – Kristyna Abrahamova has always risen to the occasion when needed for California Baptist University, and she did so in the Lancers' first-ever round at the Western Athletic Conference Championships on Thursday at the Oakbrook Golf Club.
Abrahamova shot even-par 71 in the first round to put herself in a top-four standing individually, with two rounds left to play on Friday and Saturday. Four Lancers: Yifei "Sunny" Wang, Jocelyn Chee and Erica Wang rank in the top-25 of the 45-player field.
Rounds two and three will begin at 8 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Live results are provided at Golfstat.com.
Abrahamova used three birdies to counteract three bogies and shoot even par. She birdied her first hole and then overcame bogeys at four and seven with a birdie at eight. The junior played her final four holes one under thanks to a birdie at 16.
She goes into Friday in a four-way tie for fourth place. NM State's Dominique Galloway, Vendela From of Seattle U are tied for the individual leader with 69s. Grand Canyon's Siripastorn Patchana is in third place (70).
Yifei Wang shot three-over 74 in round one, but was even par over her final seven holes of the day. Like Abrahamova, Yifei avoided any big numbers, with just four bogeys on the day.
Chee and Erica Wang both shot 77 to put themselves in a tie for 23rd place. Erica Wang birdied twice, while Chee had one of her own on Thursday. Samantha Martirez was a shot back with a 78 that has her tied for 29th.

Utah Valley leads the eight WAC teams at five-over-par 289. Seattle U (292), NM State (293), Grand Canyon (294) and Kansas City (296) are all in shooting distance within the top five. The Lancers are ineligible for the team title due to the transition to NCAA Division I, but have five golfers competing as individuals who are eligible for medalist honors.@calbaptist's Erica Wang birdied number 13 in the first round at the #WACgolf championship. pic.twitter.com/0x4P74qx0e
