
CBU On a Run at Bryan Clay Invitational

AZUSA, Calif. – California Baptist University competed in the steeplechase and the 5,000 meter at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Thursday.
In the 5,000 meter, Anett Somogyi, Anna Mate and Maria Paula Guerrero competed in heats two, four and six, respectively. Somogyi took the 14th spot in her race, claiming the third spot on the school record list with a 16 minute, 39.13 second time.
Mate missed out on the now fifth-place spot by .20 of a second when she took 10th place in her heat with a 17:02.56 time. Lastly, Guerrero ran the 5,000 in 17:52.19 to take 21st place.
In steeplechase action, Linda Palumbo took 38th in 10:58.78, the third fastest among WAC runners in the field.
CBU is scheduled to have competition in the men's 800 meter and the women's 1,500 meter on Friday.
