RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- For the second time this track season and month, Anett Somogyi was named the Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
Somogyi last earned the honor on March 12th, and was also the WAC Cross Country Runner of the Week on Sept. 18. All it took was for Somogyi to destroy the Lancers' 10,000-meter record at the Stanford Invitational on Saturday, as she ran the event in 34 minutes, 6.91 seconds.
It gives Somogyi, who won the 2018 WAC Cross Country title, the CBU record in the 10,000 and 3,000-meter runs. She holds the best time in the conference in the 10K and 5K, as well.
