CBU Ends Regular Season Strong

IRVINE, Calif. – Two top-seven and two other top-20 finishes ended the regular season on a high note for California Baptist University on Saturday at UC Irvine's Steve Scott Invitational.
The junior duo of Anett Somogyi and Fruzsina Ladanyi set the pace for CBU on Saturday with a sixth and seventh place finish, respectively, in the 1,500 meter. Somogyi spearheaded the Lancer charge with a time of four minutes, 34.68 seconds. Right behind her, Ladanyi crossed with her time of 4:30.15.
Anna Mate and Karolina Iznerowicz finished the day for the Lancers finishing 12th and 20th, respectively. Mate set a new personal best with a time of 4:41.91, while Iznerowicz clocked in at 4:47.41.
The Lancers will now turn their attention to the Western Athletic Conference Championships taking place in Orem, Utah May 9-11.
