Anett Somogyi led the way for CBU, crossing the line in 21 minutes, 34.6 seconds for a ninth-place finish. The duo of Emilie Renaud (21:40.0) and Fruzsi Ladanyi (21:48.6) finished in 11th and 12th place, respectively. Anna Mate (17th, 21:56.6) and Andrea Kolbeinsdottir (21st, 21:56.6) rounded out the scoring five.

The Lancers tallied a time of one hour, 49 minutes and 2.2 seconds — the 10th best time in school history — and topped the podium with 70 points. CBU beat out No. 24 Columbia (second, 86 points) and No. 22 Minnesota (third, 91 points) to bolster their case for a top-25 ranking. Mountain Region No. 5, Southern Utah (4th, 104 points) and West Region No. 15, Gonzaga rounded out the top five.

The men's 8k race opened the festivities on Saturday, and McMarshal Hartzenberg was the first Lancer to finish, with a time of 25 minutes, 11.4 seconds to take 14th place and a spot on the podium.
Zlatko Kožuhar (24th, 25:26.2) and Manuel Peris Bruno (31st, 25:35.3) grabbed the next two spots for CBU. Giedrius Valincius (38th, 25:45.8) and Timothy Legemet (39th, 25:47.8) followed to round out the scoring five.

CBU finished fourth on the day with 139 points, preceded by Duke (1st, 34 points), Southern Utah (2nd, 54 points) and South Dakota State. Duke is ranked sixth in the South Region, while Southern Utah is ranked 30th in all of Division I, and South Dakota State is No. 15 in the Midwest Region.
The Lancers outpaced West Region No. 14 UC Santa Barbara (fifth, 149 points), Northeast Region No. 7 Columbia (sixth, 153 points) and Minnesota (seventh, 168 points). The Golden Gophers received votes to be ranked in the most recent USTFCCCA National Poll.

CBU was also represented on the women's side by Karolina Iznerowicz (22:30.6), who finished 36th on the day, followed by the trio of Marta Afonso (59th, 22:53.6), Wiktoria Klebowska (60th, 22:54.1), and Elin Brink (61st, 22:58.1). Luz Karen Olivera (85th, 23:25.9) and Cynthia Martin (105th, 23:50.2) rounded out the runners for CBU, making their collegiate 6K debuts in the process.
Cameron Hylton (60th, 26:08.1), Henrique Neves (67th, 26:24.0), and Arturs Medveds (88th, 26:56.8) wrapped things up for the Lancer men.
Next up, the Lancers will be double dipping with some runners competing at the Arturo Barrios Invitational at Texas A&M and other runners competing locally at the UC Riverside Highlander Invitational.
