
CBU Completes 6-0 Week with Two More Wins at Gary Troyer Tournament

The 18th-ranked Lancers defeated Augustana 24-3 in the morning and then defeated Chapman 17-7 in the afternoon. It gives CBU its first winning record this season, as it is now 9-8 on the year going into its long-awaited home opener.

UC Davis will visit the Lancer Aquatics Center on Thursday, Oct. 7, for a Western Water Polo Association game at 6 p.m. CBU will then host the Lancer Joust on Oct. 8-9, with games against Westcliff, Fresno Pacific, Pepperdine and Crafton Hills.
CBU's 24-3 win over Augustana was historically dominant. The 24 goals are tied for the fourth-most in the program's single-game history, while the 21-goal margin of victory is the second largest. The Lancer centers led the way, as Gavin McKenzie (four), Joseph Griffin (three) and Matt Olsen (three) all had hat tricks and combined for 10 goals.

Cameron Cullen also had five assists and five steals in the win, with his five assists tying for the fifth most in a single game in CBU history. Angel Sanchez, Toby Bumgardner, Simon Taylor (three assists) and Marcus Lodewyk each scored a pair of goals in the win, as well. Zach Zetz and Thomas de Wit both had four points with a goal and three assists.
CBU goalies Cabot Ferguson (four saves, two assists) and Trevor Benge (seven saves, one assist) split time in the cage and combined for 11 saves and three assists.
In the final game of the weekend, the Lancers found themselves down to Chapman 3-0 two minutes in. They responded by scoring 15 of the next 16 goals in the 17-7 win.

Tristan Felberg had a career-high 17 saves, an assist and steal in the win. Angel Sanchez and Hunter Barnett scored hat tricks, while Ian Escoto also had two goals and three assists on the Panthers. Caleb Teraoka added four assists and four steals in the game.
