IRVINE --- California Baptist University clinched the West Coast Conference Championship on Thursday night, as the Lancers beat Concordia, 19-6, to improve to 5-0 in conference play.
Thursday's win marks five in a row for head coach Brandon Seagondollar's team, as the Lancers are now 5-0 on the season and in the West Coast Conference.
This marks the second time the Lancers and the Eagles met on the mat, as CBU took the first game over CU on Feb. 20 in a 17-8 victory.
Like they've done all season, the Lancers opened the first quarter winning partner stunts at 3-2. The team started to separate itself after that, as they grabbed four more points to go into the half up 7-3.
The Lancers put the game away in the final two quarters, outscoring the Eagles, 12-3.
The fourth quarter proved to be too much for the Eagles, as the Lancers recorded nine points to close the game out.
Vanessa Copeland was the highest-rated player with a 64. This is the second time this season Copeland earned the top honor, with her first award in the season opener against Vanguard with a 57.
The Lancers will head to the Oklahoma Tournament on March 1-2, where they will take on Oklahoma Baptist, Oklahoma State, Dallas Baptist, and Southwestern Christian.
