Lancers In Third at Red Rocks Invitational; Second Round Suspended Due to Darkness

SEDONA --- California Baptist University finished the first round of the Red Rock Invitational in third out of 19 teams on Saturday, as the second round was postponed due to darkness.
The Lancers finished the first round with a 304 and are currently 10-over-par in the second round with two holes left. Grand Canyon holds an advantage over the 19-field team as the day one leader with a 13-over-par team score. Gonzaga is in second with a 23-over-team score, and CBU is in third with a 26-over-team score, as the second round still needs to be finished.
As for the first round, Jocelyn Chee and Haruka Shintani both shot a 3-over-par 75 and are currently tied for 25th. Sofia Chabon shot a 4-over-par 76 and is even through 17 holes to place T-8th. Samantha Martirez also rallied after a 6-over-par 78 in the first round and is 1-over-par through 16 holes. Hailey Loh finished the first round with an 8-over-par 80 and is 3-over in her second round. Diana Araneta is competing as an individual for the Lancers and is currently T-47th.
The second round will start at 8 a.m. on Sunday, March 21, and will be immediately followed by the third and final round in the same pairings.
