Lancers Wrap Up Home Season Against GCU, Honor Hoye on Senior Day

RIVERSIDE – California Baptist University volleyball wrapped up its Western Athletic Conference series with Grand Canyon on Tuesday afternoon in the Van Dyne Gym.
The Lopes took the series finale in straight sets, 25-22, 25-17, 25-17. GCU moves into sole possession of second place in the WAC at 8-2 overall and in conference play, while CBU moves to 5-8, 4-8.
Calissa Hoye and Ellie Voss both finished with a team-high eight kills. Hoye did it on her Senior Day, while Voss hit .368 in the match (8-1-19).
Leah Pease and Hana Okuhara led CBU at setter. Pease finished with 15 assists and six digs, while Okuhara had 13 assists and four digs. Paige Johnstone posted a team-high 13 digs and three aces.
Cassidy Dennison nearly had her second double-double in a row with seven kills and 10 digs. Christine Graf led CBU with three blocks and also had five kills.
SENIOR DAY
Tuesday was Senior Day for Hoye, the Lancers' lone graduating senior. She took on a big role at CBU after transferring in for a grad season from the University of Iowa. In her collegiate career, she has recorded 443 kills and 237 digs and 12 double-doubles while averaging 3.78 kills and 2.04 digs a set over 118 career sets.
This season, she's led the Lancers in kills with 149 overall, as she's reached double-digit kills eight times this year had two 20-kill performances. She currently ranks second in the WAC with 3.71 kills per set. She's been a full-rotation player and has five double-doubles, as well, with 83 digs for a 2.13 set average, as well as 10 blocks and nine aces.

CBU has a bye from WAC play next week before traveling to Seattle U for back-to-back matches on March 22-23 to conclude regular-season play.
