CBU Battles No. 4 Cal To Open Aggie Roundup

DAVIS – For the seventh time this season, California Baptist University men's water polo faced a top-20 ranked team to open the Aggie Roundup at the Schaal Aquatics Center on Friday.

The 19^th-ranked Lancers went head-to-head with fourth-ranked Cal in what was also their third top-five matchup this year. The Golden Bears came away with the 16-8 win, despite two-goal games from Hunter Barnett, Joseph Griffin and Riley Bumgardner. Griffin and Barnett also drew four and two ejections, respectively.

CBU moves to 2-7 on the year, while Cal remains undefeated at 7-0. The Lancers have another top-10 game coming up at the Aggie Roundup on Saturday, as it will take on seventh-ranked Pacific at 10 a.m. before ending the weekend against Redlands at 1 p.m.

Tristan Felberg turned in another strong outing with nine saves in goal. Cameron Cullen also had four assists in the contest. It's the second game in a row Cullen has put up four assists or more in a game after he had five versus Fordham on Sept. 11.
