Lancers Get Big Games from Harper and Olaeta in Eighth-Straight Win

SEATTLE – Newly minted Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week Caitlyn Harper and reigning WAC Player of the Year Ane Olaeta combine to score 46 of the Lancers' 76 points in Monday's 10-point win over Seattle U, 76-66.
The Lancers improve to 13-2 on the season, now with a 4-0 WAC record, while Seattle drops to 5-9 overall and still in search of their first conference win. CBU also pushes its regular season conference win streak to 21-straight, which is currently tied for the fifth-longest in the nation.
This is the second time Harper and Olaeta have both gone off for 20-plus points in the same game, reaching the same accomplishment against TCU on November 27. Harper scored 24 points Monday, pushing her career-scoring total to 1,006 points after breaking the 1,000-point mark with the first bucket of the fourth quarter.
Olaeta reached her 22 points in large part by matching her career high with six made three pointers in the win, a mark she set on November 24, 2018, against BYU. Olaeta now has eight games this season with at least 20 points and five assists.
Seattle U took control late of a fast paced first quarter, closing out the opening frame with a 23-17 lead. CBU answered by shooting the lights out for the entire first half, going for 54.5 percent from the field and draining 10 three-pointers in the first 20 minutes and flipping the scoring script to take a 48-35 lead into the locker rooms.
The Lancers would build their lead up to as many as 15 on multiple occasions in the second half, allowing the Redhawks to only get as close as seven points, but that came with just 35 seconds left in the contest. All eight Lancers who hit the floor scored at least three points and took care of the ball as CBU matched its season-low with just eight turnovers..

The Lancers are set to tipoff with the Texans at 6 p.m. on the 20th while game time is set for 1 p.m. for the tilt with the Wildcats on the 22nd.
