
Lancers Knock Down Season High 15 Triples in Penultimate Non-Conference Game

RIVERSIDE--- California Baptist University welcomed the Sonoma State Seawolves to Riverside. The Seawolves were the only non-D1 opponent on the schedule for the Lancers, and they controlled the game from start to finish with an 88-67 win.
In the first half, the Lancers jumped out to a 28-9 lead after going on a 22-3 run. The Seawolves went on a run of their own, led by Jaylen Wells, to close out the second half, and the halftime score would eventually be 40-32. Tre Armstrong had ten points to lead CBU in scoring.
In the second half, the Seawolves cut the lead to seven points at the 8:09 mark before the Lancers closed out the game on a 24-10 run to close them out. All but one Lancer scored in the second half, with six different players scoring multiple field goals to lead a balanced second half. Riley Battin, Tre Armstrong, and Tim Ighoefe all finished in double figures, with Armstrong leading them all with 16 points on 4-7 three-point shooting.
The Lancers notched season highs in points (88), three-point field goals (15), assists (25), and turnovers (6) in the victory. CBU held distinct advantages in bench points and rebounding to help hold off the Seawolves. The Lancers move to 8-4 in their penultimate non-conference game.
Next up for the Lancers will be the Portland State Vikings, who will be in town on Thursday, December 22, at 7 p.m.
