
Chee Claims Fourth Career Win At Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational

EWA BEACH --- California Baptist University's Jocelyn Chee went wire-to-wire to win the individual medalist at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational on Tuesday, as the graduate senior claimed the one-shot lead over the field of 58 golfers.
Chee helped lead the Lancers to a third-place finish out of 10 teams, as the Lancers shot a 27-over-par 891 team score to finish six strokes off the lead. Sacramento State won the tournament with a 21-over-par 885 team score, while Hawai'i finished in second with a 26-over-par 890 team score.
With the medalist victory, Chee improves her career victories to four and ties Erica Wang for most wins in the program's history.
Chee finished the two-day tournament with a 1-over-par 67-75-75=217 to take the trophy back home to Riverside. Her 5-under-par 67 set a new career-best as a Lancer and moved to second all-time for low 18 hole score in the program.

Sofia Chabon made the climb up three spots to take T-13th with a 9-over-par 225 total, while Haruka Shintani finished T-16th with a 10-over-par 226. Hailey Loh moved up seven spots and finished T-22nd with a 12-over-par 228 total.
Esther Lee made the largest climb for the Lancers, jumping up 10 spots to take T-28th with a 14-over-par 230. As for the individuals, Filipa Capelo improved her position up seven spots to take solo 27th with a 13-over-par, while Belle Balkan finished 56th with a 34-over-par 250 total.
The two-day tournament is being held at Hoekalei Country Club, as the golf course is playing at a par 72 at 6,123 yards. The field includes four top 100 teams, including No. 72 Sacramento State, No. 83 Nevada, No. 90 Hawai'i, and No. 91 Grand Canyon.
The Lancers will travel next to Sedona, Arizona, for the Red Rocks Invitational on March 19-20.
