CBU Logs Top Times and Finishes at Bryan Clay and Mt. SAC

AZUSA and WALNUT – California Baptist University track took on two prestigious meets, with representatives at Azusa Pacific's Bryan Clay Invitational and the Mt. SAC Relays. The Lancers produced several top times and finishes in both locations with two top-six finishes and five top-10 times.
Said Mechaal provided the highlight of the day when he won Mt. SAC's 10,000-meter collegiate race in an impressive time of 28 minutes, 45.98 seconds, the second-best time in program history. It was not far off the CBU record of 28:43.33 set by Ivo Balabanov at The Track Meet in 2020.
BRYAN CLAY INVITE
Over at Azusa Pacific, Sylvia De La Pena took sixth in the Bryan Clay Invite's 10K meter open race in 36:12.24, which ranks her 10th on CBU's all-time individual list.
Mia Cabrera 63rd in the 800 meter at Bryan Clay in 2:11.06, which ranked third in CBU's individual top-10 and was an improvement on her season best of 2:13.35 at the West Coast Relays about two weeks ago.
Yasna Petrova took 16th in her 5K heat with a time of 16:57.11, which put her on the Lancers' top-10 individual list.
Roman Zozulia took 16th in his 5K heat in 14:22.89, which was a career best by nearly nine seconds (14:31.71).
MT. SAC RELAYS
Mechaal was joined by Matias Reynaga and Luis Chavez in the 10K collegiate race on Friday night. Reynaga clocked a top-10 individual time of 29:52.80 to place 25th in the race. Chavez took 33rd in 30:22.07.

CBU has more double duty on deck on Friday, April 15. The Lancers will run the 1500 meter at Bryan Clay and will compete in the 5K at Mt. SAC.
