
CBU Sets Three New Records in One Day at Bryan Clay and Mt. SAC

It was a 1500-meter exhibition for the Lancers at the Bryan Clay Invite at Azusa Pacific, as more than 10 Lancers ran the event on the day at the meet. Two more CBU runners took on the 5,000 meter to much success at the Mt. SAC Relays. CBU logged eight new top-10 times in the program's individual history, with four top-two marks and three new records on the day.

Greta Karinauskaite opened the Mt. SAC Relays in a big way for CBU. She shattered the Lancers' 5,000-meter record with a time of 15 minutes, 58.91 seconds that earned her third place in the event. It obliterated the previous record of 16:08.21 set by Emeline Delanis in 2018.
Florian Le Pallec followed that up with a 13:46.32 for the men to break one of the oldest CBU records that had stood since 1999 (Kris Bowditch, 13:48.75). It was also good for an eighth-place finish.

BRYAN CLAY
Giedrius Valincius was the first record setter for the Lancers, as he crossed the line in 3:42.82 in Bryan Clay's 1500-meter invitational. It broke another record set in 1999 by Bowditch (3:43.04). Valincius took 56th overall and fourth in his heat.

On the women's side, Anneken Viljoen nearly had a record herself in the 1500 meter. She recorded the second-best time in team history at 4:21.53 to take 37th place overall and fifth in her invitational heat.

Rikus Van Niekerk clocked the next best 1500 meter mark on the day for CBU's men. He took 12th overall in Bryan Clay's open A race and third in his heat with a time of 3:48.3, which ranks eighth in the program's individual history.
Dylan Van Der Hock recorded the ninth-best individual time for the Lancers at 3:50.15. Massimiliano Beri (3:51.61) and Zlatko Kozuhar (3:53.77) also ran a 1500 on Friday for the men.
Emilia Mikszuta and Yasna Petrova both ran in the 1500 meter Open A race at Azusa Pacific. Mikszuta had the eighth-best individual time for CBU with a 4:32.52, while Petrova got into the top 10 with a 4:33.53.
Karin Gosek (4:37.92), Pinja Kotinurmi (4:41.71), Emilie Renaud (4:50.53) and Anna Mate (4:51.17) also ran 1500s.
