Karinauskaite Earns Second WAC Track Athlete of the Week Award in 2022

RIVERSIDE – For the second time this season, California Baptist University track's Greta Karinauskaite was named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
Karinauskaite earned the award after she won 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Fresno State Invite on Saturday. She won easily with a time of nine minutes, 52.28 seconds. It was a near 20-second cushion over the runner-up, Colorado's Gabrielle Orie (10:12.23).
The mark was also less than a second off her CBU record time and was good for the 12th best time in the country this season, which makes her the only individual with two top-12 times in the steeplechase this year.
CBU has one more scheduled regular season meet at the Sound Track Meet on Friday, May 6 at JSerra High School in San Juan Capistrano. The Lancers will then wrap up their season at the WAC Championships. Seattle U will host the conference meet on Thursday, May 12 through Saturday, May 14.
