Congratulations to Rola Badawiya on recently signing a professional contract with Sydney University Soccer Football Club in Australia after playing for Roma Calcio Femminile in Italy. #LanceUp⚔️ pic.twitter.com/XSkuzbhU9D
Badawiya was an All-WAC First Team and NCAA Division I All-Pacific Region selection in both her seasons at CBU in 2019 and 2020. The forward ranks first in CBU's D-I history for points (44), goals (18), multi-goal games (three) and game winners (eight). She also ranks second in assists (seven), shots on goal (52) and games with a goal and assist (two) and third in shots (111). She did it all despite ranking eighth in games started (34) and ninth in minutes (2,153:21) as a two-year transfer.
"Rola is transferring to Sydney FC, one of the top teams in Australia from her previous club AS Roma in Italy's top division the Serie A. Sydney FC is acquiring an industrious, intelligent, and natural goal scorer in Rola Badawiya," CBU Coach Kristen St. Clair said. "Rola's composure and accuracy with either foot around the goal makes her a lethal finisher capable of scoring at any time. During her time at CBU, Rola played an integral part to CBU's success, consistently scoring big goals and assisting on many scoring opportunities for her teammates I have no doubt she'll do the same in Australia for Sydney FC. We're very proud of Rola and look forward to an exciting career in Australia with Sydney FC."

Felix was a three-time all-conference and NCAA All-Region selection, who played in both Division I and II in her four years (2015-18) in Riverside. The midfielder totaled 59 points, 24 goals and 11 assists in her career and ranks seventh in CBU history with 203 shots. Despite just her one season, she ranks top-10 in the Lancers' D-I record book in points (19), goals (eight), game winners (four), shots (47) and shots on goal (20) and assists (three).

"Club Santos is one of the top women's professional teams in Mexico, and they are getting a fantastic player that will help them win." St. Clair said. "Desarae is a student of the game, possessing a rare combination of leadership, talent, work ethic and passion for the game. Des is a natural leader on the field, that is clear when you watch her play, as she raises the performances of those around her. During her time at CBU, Des was a captain and four-year starter, integral to our success. We're very proud of Des and look forward to an exciting professional career ahead of her in Mexico."

"Romy is one of the top young goalkeepers in the world and HSC Montpellier is one of the top teams in the French 1st Division," St. Clair said. "Romy possesses the ability to be a world class goalkeeper and will no doubt make an immediate impact for her new club. During Romy's time at CBU, she was our starting goalkeeper each year and an integral part to our success, setting many goalkeeping records along the way. I have no doubt she'll earn the starting position for club (HSC Montpellier) and country (France) in a very short time. We're very proud of Romy and look forward to an exciting professional career ahead of her in France."
