Lancers Grab Two Wins With Doubleheader Day

RIVERSIDE --- California Baptist University men's water polo made its home opener with a doubleheader against Biola and Concordia - Irvine on Thursday, as the Lancers captured both wins at the Lancer Aquatics Center.
The 16th-ranked Lancers produced two dominant wins on the day, as the Lancers beat Biola, 14-10, and Concordia, 21-5. CBU improves to 8-6 on the season and 1-1 in WWPA play.

Logan Puhl led CBU with a hat trick against Biola, while Tristan Felberg had nine saves and three steals in the cage. Matt Olsen, Caleb Teraoka, and Joseph Griffin all scored twice in the game, as well.
After racing out to a 2-2 tie, the Lancers scored five-straight goals to take a 7-2 lead with 6:10 left in the first half, with Puhl scoring twice in that run. Biola managed to cut its deficit all the way down to two, 12-10, with 2:50 left in regulation, but CBU scored the final goals of the game, thanks to Olsen and Puhl.

In the second game of the day, the Lancers jumped out to a 6-0 lead after Olsen recorded a hat trick in the first five minutes of the period. After the quick 6-0 start, the Lancers didn't look back as they continued to score in bunches over the Eagles.
CBU recorded 21 goals on 32 shots with a .656 shooting percentage in the game. Olsen and Cameron Cullen led the attack, producing a team-best five goals each. Bodhi Bowden recorded a hat trick on the night, while Trevor Benge was responsible for the win in the cage.
UP NEXT
CBU will host Fresno Pacific on Thursday, Sept. 29, at 7 p.m. at the Lancer Aquatics Center before making the short drive to the Gary Troyer Tournament on Sept. 30 – Oct. 1.
