
Dizon Leads Lancers During Final Round Of Johnie Imes Invitational

COLUMBIA --- California Baptist University finished the final day of the Johnie Imes Invitational on Wednesday, as the Lancers placed tied for sixth out of 15 teams.
The University of Missouri is hosting the three-day event at the Club at Old Hawthorne with 14 teams traveling in from across the country. Missouri took over the top spot on the final day to win its home event with a 13-over-par 866 team score. Lipscomb fell to second with a 24-over-par 888 team score, while NIU completed the podium in third with a 27-over-par 891 team score.
The Lancers finished tied with FIU in sixth after shooting a 35-over-par 899 team score.
Freshman Samantha Dizon claimed her first top 10 finish of her young career, signing a 4-over-par 220 to place T-9th. In Tuesday's second round, Dizon recorded a new career-best 2-under-par 70 to help secure the top 10 finish.
Hailey Loh ended her tournament at T-22nd with a 9-over-par 225 total, while Damini Law Ghanshyani and Esther Lee both finished T-36th with a 14-over-par 230. Sofia Chabon finished at T-42nd with a 15-over-par 231 total.
Sarah Bell of Oral Roberts earned the individual medalist honors with a 4-under-par 212.
The Lancers play next at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invite on Oct. 3-4 in Seattle, Washington, at the Tacoma Country and Golf Club.
