DALLAS - California Baptist University STUNT played in Dallas Baptist University Tournament against Texas Tech University.
The Lancers STUNT team started off their first game in Dallas, TX, strong, beating Power 5 school Texas Tech University in quarter one 4-0. The Lancers continued momentum against the Red Raiders throughout quarter two, winning points for levels 4, 5, and 6, ending with a tie in pyramids and tosses 1.
Sonia Masseralli, a second year, stated that her favorite routine to play is Pyramid 6, because "I know how difficult the skills are and saw the hard work the team put into getting them. Hitting those skills during a game is extremely rewarding. It really hypes up our team and brings up the energy!"
The third quarter started with possession by the Red Raiders, but CBU continued their push for success by winning all four points, ending the quarter up, 12-1.
First year player at CBU Kaycee Jacobson was asked what pushes her to keep going after a point loss and she said, "I think about all the hard work that we've put in and use it as a driving force to make the following routines the best they can be, instead of dwelling on previous mistakes that were made".
CBU Lancers STUNT finished out the game with their fourth win of the season, defeating Texas Tech University with a score of 23-2.
