CBU Secures Top Three Finish at Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational

RIO VERDE, ARIZONA – The California Baptist women's golf TEAM closed out the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational on Sunday afternoon, maintaining the third-place slot they had to begin the final round, finishing up with a combined score of +37 (901). Xavier took the wire-to-wire win in Arizona, finishing with an 11-over (875), while Kennesaw State claimed silver with a score of 28-over (892).
Samantha Dizon finished the tournament as the top finisher for the Lancers, carding a 2-over (74) final round to finish T7 at 5-over for the trip. Sophia Chabon was next for CBU, holding sole possession of 11th place with a cumulative score of +7.
Haruka Shintani finished the tournament T14 with a 9-over total score. Hailey Loah and Esther Lee rounded out the Lancer scoring in T51 and T54 with scores of 16-and-17-over, respectively.
The TEAM will have a week and a half to prepare for their next tournament, which will take them to St. George, Utah, where they will participate in the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational, hosted by Southern Utah University March 9-11.
