Lancers Finish Day One of Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invite in Fourth

ST. GEORGE, UTAH – California Baptist University women's golf is in Utah this week, participating in the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invite, hosted by WAC foe Southern Utah University. After 18 holes, the Lancers find themselves in fourth place, scoring 8-over par (296). Wyoming leads the pack after round one at +2 (290), followed by Boise State at +5 (293) and North Dakota State at +6 (294).
CBU's low round was carded by Sofia Chabon, who entered the clubhouse with a +1 (73). She closed out strong, going 1-under in the final four holes to place T9. Damini Law Ghanshyani and Samantha Dizon finished T15 after closing the first round with a +2 (74).
Haruka Shintani finished the opening round at +3 (75), with Filipa Capelo rounding out the scoring Lancers with a +7 (79).
Round two begins at 9:00 a.m. on Friday morning, with Lancers' beginning the shotgun start on holes 1-3.
