
Dizon Cards a 67 to Shoot Up The Leaderboard on Day Two

ST. GEORGE, UTAH – California Baptist University women's golfer Samantha Dizon claimed the individual lead on Friday afternoon by shooting a tournament low 67. It was one of just three rounds under par on Friday, building a three-shot lead going into the final round on Saturday.
Dizon posted seven birdies in round two, hitting four in a row at one point on holes 8-11. She climbed 14 spots to take the three-shot lead after 36 holes. Samantha Dizon had a day! The Lancer team jumped up two spots to take over second place overall. They sit at +17-over (593) for the tournament, just one shot behind tournament leaders Wyoming at 16-over (592). Boise State (+20), CSU Bakersfield (+20), and North Dakota State (+22) round out the top five of the 16-team event.
Sofia Chabon and Damini Law Ghanshyani are knotted with four other golfers in a tie for 15th overall at +5 through two rounds. Haruka Shintani closed out Friday's action T35 at +10, while Filipa Capelo closed out the day at +14 to be tied for 59th.
The competition closes out on Saturday with 18 more holes to decide the 2023 Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbirds Invitational winner.
