SEDONA, ARIZONA – The California Baptist University golf team is spending the weekend competing in Sedona, Arizona, in the annual Red Rocks Invitational hosted by Northern Arizona University. Rounds one and two were completed on Saturday, with CBU finishing the first in a tie for fourth but dropping to 10th by the end of round two.
The Lancers turned in a cumulative score of +27 (603) after 36 holes to sit just one stroke behind the host Lumberjacks and the University of Idaho, who are tied for eighth at +26 (602). The Delaware Blue Hens led the way after the first two rounds with the only single-digit score in the field at +6 (582). Gonzaga is next on the leaderboard at +12 (588), followed by WAC foe Grand Canyon in third with a score of +14 (590).
Last weeks individual champion Samantha Dizon had a great first round, shooting 2-under (70) par, but round two was not as favorable for the freshman as she came into the clubhouse 5-over after the second 18 to finish the day in a three-way tie for 12th place at +3.
