
Lancers Jump Up Leaderboard in Final Day of the Red Rocks Invitational

SEDONA – The freshman duo of Samantha Dizon and Damini Law Ghanshyani both went low in the final round of the Red Rocks Invitational, propelling the Lancers to jump up three spots from Saturday to finish T7 for the tournament.
The Lancers split the finish with host Northern Arizona with matching scores of +31 (895), while Navy swooped in to win the tournament with a final team score of +16 (880). Grand Canyon claimed second place in the team competition at +20 (884), and Cal State Fullerton rounded out the podium with a score of +21 (885). The freshmen came through with a great finish to the tournament! Dizon and Law Ghanshyani each carded a 1-under par 71 in the final round, getting there in different ways. Dizon was the highest-placing Lancer, claiming seventh place after being the definition of steady on Sunday. She opened the round birdie-bogey but then parred the next 15 holes before bringing it home on the final hole of the round, birdieing the par three seventh. Law Ghanshyani (T33) started the round on the wrong foot, posting three bogies in her first four holes, but regrouped and finished in a big way, shooting 4-under golf in the final 14 holes.
Haruka Shintani closed out the tournament just one stroke behind Law Ghanshyani, coming in a T39 with a score of +11 (227). Sofia Chabon finished T44 after posting an event score of +12 (228), with Filipa Capelo coming in at T71 with a final score of +18 (234).
Next up for the Lancers is the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic. The University of Wyoming will host the Classic in Maricopa, Arizona, on April 3-4.
