OREM--- The California Baptist University wrestling team finished the regular season off with a bang, defeating the Utah Valley Wolverines 20-17 in Orem.
The dual came down to the wire as the two programs exchanged blows through the ten matches. Clutch bonus points from Hunter Leake for and a gritty final bout from Dayne Morton secured the road dual for the Lancers.
The win gave CBU its second BIG 12 dual win of the season, marking the first time the program has recorded multiple BIG 12 victories since joining the prestigious conference. The win over the Wolverines was the first ever for CBU in the four-match history between the two programs and was the seventh dual win of the season for CBU, marking the most the program has recorded since the 2017-18 season.
The dual began at 157lbs with Chaz Hallmark facing off against Alex Emmer of the Wolverines.
