RIVERSIDE, CA--- After a stellar graduate season with the California Baptist University Lancers, Yvan Ouedraogo has signed a professional contract to play for the Calgary Surge of the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
Ouedraogo registered career numbers in his final collegiate season with the Lancers after playing his previous years with Nebraska and Grand Canyon. Ouedraogo was third on the team in scoring, posting a career-best 10 points per game, and tied for the team lead in rebounding at 8.5 per contest. Ouedraogo was a force on the glass for CBU, finishing in the top 60 in the nation in rebounding average, total rebounds, and offensive rebounding. Paired with his teammate Hunter Goodrick, Ouedraogo was part of a duo that ranked fourth in the nation in rebounding average by a frontcourt pairing.
Ouedraogo scored a career-high 17 points, was named All-Tournament at the Joust during non-conference play, and collected a season-high 18 rebounds against his former team, the Grand Canyon Lopes, on senior night. Ouedraogo posted ten double-digit rebounding performances this season and submitted six double-doubles.
Ouedraogo will join his former Lope teammate Sean Miller-Moore on the Surge next season along with former Marquette standout Justin Lewis. The Surge were the 2023 Western Conference Regular Season Champions and are one of ten teams in the CEBL.
