Nuzzo Named WCC Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, CA--- The West Coast Conference announced its weekly awards on Tuesday morning, citing Andrea Nuzzo as WCC Player of the Week for the first time this season and in his career. The sophomore attacker was a critical component of California Baptist's perfect first week of conference play after besting #8 Pepperdine at home and Air Force on the road in Colorado.
Nuzzo fired off nine total shots against the ranked Waves on Thursday, denting the twine four times while tallying three assists. The sophomore would then turn around and unleash five goals on the Falcons with a pair of assists to lead CBU to victory yet again on Sunday afternoon. Nuzzo's critical contributions put the Lancers at the top of the WCC table after the first week, as CBU currently owns a 2-0 record on the season.
The WCC weekly award marks the first of the year for CBU and Nuzzo's first of his career.
