
CBU Earns Four All-WCC Honors During Postseason Awards

SAN BRUNO, CA--- The West Coast Conference announced its conference award winners on Tuesday afternoon, citing four California Baptist men's water polo players as honorees. Andrea Nuzzo, Alex Righetti, Rafael Martinez, and Whitley Beamon were all selected to an All-WCC team for their efforts this conference season in the pool.
Nuzzo comes as no surprise after his stunning sophomore year under Head Coach Kevin Rosa. The sophomore attacker notched 86 goals and 42 assists, earning 128 points for CBU during the complete year. In conference, Nuzzo totaled 19 goals and 11 assists, while drawing five exclusions and tallying three steals. He ranks second in the conference in goals and first in points across the six games.
Righetti and Martinez were both dubbed honorable mentions this season after earning their first conference recognitions. Martinez ended WCC play with 12 goals and two assists with four steals, while Righetti totaled 11 goals and three assists with six drawn exclusions. Lastly, Beamon secured a spot on the WCC All-Freshmen team for his impressive collegiate debut. The freshman found the back of the net four times while contributing five assists during conference play.
California Baptist will now return to Colorado for the WCC Tournament from November 21st through the 23rd. The reigning champs will kick off the postseason against #4 LMU at 4 p.m. PST on Friday.
