RIVERSIDE--- The West Coast Conference announced its preseason awards on Friday morning, adding one Lancer to the 2025 WCC Men's Water Polo Preseason Team ahead of the upcoming season. The CBUÂ men's water polo team will return to the pool next week as they work toward another tournament championship and a ticket to the NCAA National Tournament in their final season as a part of the WCC.
Andrea Nuzzo earned the lone nod to the preseason team after his stunning debut season last year. Nuzzo made a splash with 69 goals across 39 games played during the 2024 season before having a stellar summer with the Italian Men's Water Polo National Team. The sophomore attacker will be expected to help lead the offense for Kevin Rosa's squad as they go on the hunt for another WCC Tournament Championship.
The 2025 WCC Coaches Poll saw San Jose State earn the number one spot with four first-place votes, with Pepperdine slated to finish second. LMU and Pacific were tied for third, placing California Baptist in fifth with Santa Clara and Air Force following. The Lancers will kick off their season on Friday, August 29th, as they compete at UC Irvine in a weekend tournament and open against Concordia University Irvine at 11:30 a.m.
