RIVERSIDE --- Back in California after a stop in the Sooner State, the Lancers are set to square off with their fourth Big West opponent on Monday night. In the final home non-conference match of the 2025 season, CBU will welcome the Anteaters of UC Irvine to the CBU Soccer Stadium for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
The Anteaters enter Monday night ranked No. 20 in the latest United Soccer Coaches' Poll. UC Irvine sits 5-1-1 on the season and is coming off their first loss of 2025, a 2-0 final against No. 23 San Diego.
CBU sits 4-1-1 this season following a 3-1 victory in Tulsa on Tuesday night. Junior Felix Ezekwuka set up the Lancer offense with a 10th-minute goal and an 86th-minute assist. The assist set up the first college goal for freshman Alexander Cruz.
Sophomore Blake D'Agostino also scored in Tulsa, a penalty goal in the 10th minute. D'Agostino has scored in five consecutive matches, the second-longest streak in CBU's eight-year Division I tenure. His five goals are tied for the most in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC).
Goalkeeper Hugo Do Rego finished Tuesday's victory with seven saves, a season high.
The Lancers have been away from their home pitch since September 8, a 1-1 draw against Cal State Fullerton. CBU is unbeaten in Riverside this season, sitting 2-0-1, with victories coming against American and Cal Poly.
Irvine's last time out featured the lone common opponent on both the Anteaters' and Lancers' schedules. CBU left Torero Stadium following a 3-2 loss on September 4. San Diego remains the only loss on both CBU and UCI's schedule.
Misael Gonzales Lopez leads UCI with four goals. Hunny Yoo features a team-leading three assists. In seven matches, the Anteaters are outscoring opponents 12-3. CBU is outscoring opponents 13-8 through six matches.
Goalkeeper Joe O'Shaughnessy leads the Anteaters with 12 saves and an .800 save percentage through 585 minutes in goal.
Monday night's match is the final home contest of CBU's non-conference schedule. The Lancers will wrap up their preseason on Friday night when they visit UC Riverside for the Crosstown Showdown. Conference action will begin on October 4 with a visit to San Jose State.
