RIVERSIDE --- The third of six looks at the Big West Conference pops up on the Lancers' schedule Monday night, as CBU welcomes the Titans of Cal State Fullerton to Riverside. CBU will look to bounce back from a 3-2 loss in San Diego, while keeping their unbeaten record against the Big West alive.
CBU enters Monday night's battle with the Titans sitting 3-1-0 on the season. The Lancers have picked up wins against American, CSU Bakersfield, and Cal Poly, while their one loss came last week in San Diego.
The Lancers led 2-0 late in their road fixture with the Toreros. Early goals from Stavros Charalampous and Blake D'Agostino sparked CBU to an early 2-0 lead, and that score held until a USD penalty goal with less than five minutes left. The Toreros evened the score 60 seconds later and then broke the hearts of CBU fans with their winning strike with one second remaining on the clock.
Fullerton comes into Monday sitting 1-1-2 early in the season. Their lone win came on the road against Tulsa, a squad the Lancers will see next week in Oklahoma. The Titans lost in Corvallis, 4-2, against Oregon State in their last time out. A 1-1 draw to UCLA preceded the loss in Oregon.
Monday night will be Bring the Noise night at CBU Soccer Stadium. Students in attendance will receive vuvuzelas to use throughout the contest.
