
Three Podium Finishes Highlight Day One in Texas

PHARR, TX --- California Baptist's swimming and diving teams took to the pool on Wednesday for day one of the 2026 MPSF Conference Tournament. With three podium finishes and a pool record, the Lancers put forth a strong showing on the first of three days of competition.
CBU ended the day with one first-place finish courtesy of Mario Del Valle. Del Valle continued his great season with a score of 398.45 in 3m diving. He also broke the pool record in the prelims with a score of 434.7.
Joining Del Valle on the podium was Gael Jimenez. Jimenez placed third with 374.0 points, a score that also qualifies him for Zone E competition.
The Lancers' third podium finish came in the men's 200-yard medley relay. The team of Benjamin Madson, Ian Mullen, Tyler Mansheim, and Eli Rollen finished second at 1:26.11.
Competition continues tomorrow with day two from the campus of UTRGV. Fans can tune in live on the GOLS Network.
