
Day Two in Texas Sees Five Podium Finishes

PHARR, TX --- California Baptist returned to the pool on Thursday for day two of the MPSF Conference Tournament. The day saw five podium finishes for the Lancers, who look to have another strong day in the final day of competition tomorrow.
CBU saw success across the board in the relays on Thursday as they earned two third-place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
For the second day in a row, the team of Benjamin Madson, Eli Rollen, Tyler Mansheim, and Ian Mullen earned a place on the podium. This time it was a third-place finish with a time of 1:18.88. The CBU women also placed third, doing so with a time of 1:31.49. CBU's relay team consisted of Naya Koc, Sara Svorcan, Eliza Taylor, and Emily Drossel.
The Lancers added another podium finish in the pool when Mark Kovacsics placed second in the men's 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:20.11.
CBU's dive team also saw a pair of podium finishes. Gael Jimenez placed first in 1m diving with a score of 416.4. His teammate, Mario Del Valle, placed second with 409.95.
The competition wraps up tomorrow from the campus of UTRGV. Fans can tune in live on the GOLS Network.
