Swim & Dive Wrap Up Season at the NCAA Championship

ATLANTA, GA --- Three California Baptist student-athletes wrapped up their season this week at the NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championship. The national championship ran across four days from Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA, as the best in collegiate aquatics competed on the biggest stage.

Representing the Lancers were Mark Kovacsics, Mario Del Valle, and Gael Jimenez.

Kovacsics was first up on Wednesday as he qualified for the 1,650-yard freestyle. Kovacsics hit the qualifying mark with a first-place finish at the MPSF Championship. Kovacsics posted a time of 14:50.58 during his swim in Atlanta, placing him No. 18 in the nation.

The meet continued on Thursday with Del Valle and Jimenez competing in 1m diving. Del Valle finished No. 25 in the nation with a score of 304.80. Jimenez ranks No. 38 in 1m diving after his score of 273.30.

Jimenez then added a 33rd-place finish in 3m diving on Friday with 324.15 points. Del Valle ends his 3m diving season at No. 41 in the country with 306.35 points.
