
Kovacsics Qualifies for Nationals on Final Day in Texas

PHARR, TX --- The fourth and final day of competition at the MPSF Championship wrapped up on Friday in Texas. Highlighting the day was the record performance of Mark Kovacsics, who punched his ticket to the NCAA Championship.
Kovacsics will be competing at the NCAA Championship in Atlanta after he qualified in the 1,650-yard freestyle on Saturday. Kovacsics took first place in the event with a qualifying time of 14:48.77.
He was not done there as he also took first in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a record-breaking time of 8:59.45.
The NCAA Championship begins on March 25.
For the CBU divers who have qualified for the Zone E Championships, competition will begin on March 9 from Flagstaff, AZ.
CBU closed the week in fourth place in both the men's and women's competition. The CBU men scored 510 points, and the CBU women finished with 980.5 points. The Lancers close out the week with 14 podium finishes.
